| | Hi Everyone I'm a new member from Chicago. I own a 2001 Audi TT Quattro convertible last year. I had 17000 miles when I bought it.
Having a lot of fun with the car despite it throwing a code which looks like the haldex awd controller is gone. geesh...disappointing with so few miles!
Anyhow, I've been reading a lot in the forum and thanks to all for all the info in the forum. |

Driving: 2005 A6 quattro | | Hey Chigaro!
Thank you very much for registering, I greatly appreciate that.
You have an awesome car =). What is the error code exactly? I might be able to help.
You can upload a picture of your car in your profile right here: http://www.go-audi.com/album.php. Oh and, I can only recommend you another website if you are from Chicago: chicagovelocity.com - it's the biggest community related to Chicago and cars.

| | The code I'm getting is P0411, which I have researched and know that it's the secondary air supply..which could be the pump, lines, solenoid or the valve.
Didn't see anything wrong with the lines and I do hear more noise from the engine that I'd expect to hear, so I'm betting that it's the pump.
So at 18k miles, I'm surprised I have potentially two big repairs!
Thanks for any help, I have some time off next week, so I'll bring it to the dealer and have a full scan. |

Driving: 2005 A6 quattro | | Hmm. Yes, the dealers will most likely locate the problem and fix it, however they are usually quite expensive. If they are planning to exchange some parts, you are better of by buying them on the internet.

| | Great advice about the dealer. Here's what I'm thinking. I'll have them diagnose the problems, try to find the parts and then bring the car back to the small repair shop and have them make the repairs.
I know the small shop said the haldex was bad, but before I pay for a new one, I want the dealer to just make sure something else isn't wrong, like a bad wire, other sensor etc.
The dealer should be able to tell me if the pump is bad and I can get that from someone, any thoughts as to who has the best prices/services on oem parts?
I've only seen that high performance haldex on google.
I'll post a pic...I love the car....just hope it doesn't have lots of little problems.
Thanks for all the help! |

Driving: 2005 A6 quattro | | Hi.
I have to deny, I am not so familiar with shops in the states as I am living in Germany (Yes! I have been to Neckarsulm :P). That's a very good idea, I guess you are able to save around 20-30 % using that method. You are driving an Audi, never forget that - Audis rarely have problems.

| | That's great to hear that Audi's are good performers. I already have my next TT lined up. Same previous owner, bought the new TT for his wife, except it's Red and Automatic.
It may be a few years before I get it though! I have to make this one last. Thanks for the advice. If I find a good solution for the haldex, I'll let the group know...I think it's a hard part to find.

Driving: 2005 A6 quattro | | Automatic is good, the gear shifts are very smooth. I would never buy a car again without automatic.
Thanks for letting us know then . |

| | How do you like the A6? I almost bought one, but instead got a 2006 m35x for my daily driver. so far so good. probably shouldn't say that in this forum....sorry.
but the tt is a very fun car to drive. |

Driving: 2005 A6 quattro | | The m35x is good for sure, but you can not compare it with an A6. The roadholding is awesome, I am driving an A6 S-Line Quattro avant. It is just awesome with its 3.2 liter engine. When you are going on the Autobahn (German highway, no speed limit) and are at 150 mph than it feels like you are driving 100 kmh in other cars. You do not feel the speed, your car is like a fast tank. If you ever come to Germany, let me know :P. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
