Default 1994 100cs quattro overheating

i drive a 1994 audi 100 cs quattro (as im assuming the title implied.) in the past two days its been running hotter and hotter until yesterday it began to overheat. i turned the heat on as high as it would go and the temp got more reasonable, but still high. can anyone tell me where the thermostat is located in this particular car? thankyou in advance for any replies.
