You can rest asure that there will be a B8 RS4 sometime in the future, it may take a few years, but it will come. Audi, BMW and Mercedes can not live without this undergoing competition, RS4 M3 and AMG-Cxx is a showcase for what the makers are capable of doing to a "small" saloon car, Lexus have join the game too now with their IS-F and I think we will see something from Infinity too before long, Nissan are already somewhat in it.
Is it show-off segment for the makers, partly I guess, but it is also in this segment they are testing some of their new things before some of it becomes available in the standard cars (no offence). In Germany, there will always me a market for fast cars, at least as long they still have free speed at some parts on the Autobahn, if that role will be changed, it may change, but till then, we will still be able to enjoy those fast saloon's.
Back to the B8 RS4, as you propperbly know, till now, Audi has had a rule of only having one RS model on the marked at the time. B7 RS4 is sort of running towards the end spring 2008, then the new RS6 will take over, but then what about the coming RS5, R8RS (just a guess) and TT-RS or whatever it will be called. If RS6, RS5 and TT-RS each have to be markeded for approximately two years, there will not be room for the B8 RS4 before the B8 model run is over, who know. What I try to say is, that Audi is likely to change their 'one at the time' policy to make room for all their planned cars, but guess we will just have to lean back and enjoy the new models hitting the marked in the coming years. |
