Default power loss on a4 2.5tdi v6

I have had some intermittent power loss problems. I have had the turbo refurbished, i have also had mass air flow changed. I have also replaced the cat. When i experience the power loss i cant get the car to go over 3000 revs at times. This has been occuring for some time and i'm desperate to get this sorted, does anyone have any ideas ? Just to add a bit more, the car has been to an audi garage and they knew so little about the engine, they had to contact head office for details! Due to the expense of leaving it with audi for much longer ( big bill!!) i thought i would see if anyone had experienced anything similar or could help at all.

I have a similar problem with my 2005 cabriolet, i could feather the throttle and coax it over 3000rpm were it would take off like a scalded cat until it was time to change gear again then the whole process would have to start again! while all of this was going on i noticed the traction control light coming on and off even though the wheels had traction.
It all came to an end this morning when the engine cut out totally and would not re-start all of the above happened over a period of around 30miles i had a friend look at the car with a hand held diagnostic kit and there are no faults showing he has recommended i go to a bosch specialist......im not best pleased as the car is only out of warranty by 1 month and has only covered 61,000!

Hmm, strange problem.

First thing, you are using new air and oil filters? No warnings popping up in the cockpit?

It could be a very dirty (due to rocker gasket leak) connector for the turbo solenoid, which mounted on the front of the engine, LHS (facing the car), next to cambelt cover. There is a thin pipe going to it from the top of the turbo assembly to it
Run the engine up (cold is good as you won't burn your hand!) and fiddle with the connector. You may suddenly feel the solenoid clunk and the engine sound will change. If so, iggy off, unplug and clean the connector and the socket on the solenoid. Do this with care please, preferably let a skilled friend do it.

Hopefully that will be it!

Hendrik

Default So now the main dealer has the car!!!

just a quick follow up to let you know the staus

The main Audi dealer that has looked after the car fo the last 3 years have ran a full diagnostic check. Excuse any errors in my typing as my hand is still shaking from the severe shock!

The first thing the pretty size zero service girl reminded my off was the fact the warranty expired 23 days ago, she quickly followed this with and i quote " there are no good will funds available from Audi at the moment" then the best came last.............you need a new fuel pump sir which will be £1500 + £400 labour.

After a lengthy pause (because i had stopped breathing) i asked how could a 61,000 mile Audi need a new fuel pump, i may as well buy a Renault, at least you are prepared for the maulfunctions! on the positive side she did agree that it was very rare and she had never heard of this happening.

As it stands she has now promised to contact Audi and plead my case

Depending on this outcome will help me to decide on my next point of contact...........Car magazine?, local press?, Audi UK or and Audi HQ.

Would anyone know who would be best to contact within the Audi VAG group? i can feel a long period of hassle and rejection looming in the immediate future!
