Canada's Car of the Year, the 2008 Audi
R8 mid-engined sports car, will be in the spotlight along with the award-winning 2008 Audi S5 at the Interior Design Show 2008 which opens this weekend.
Highlighting design trends, ideas and new products, the Interior Design Show (IDS08) takes place February 21 - 24, 2008 at the Direct Energy Centre at Toronto's Exhibition Place. International keynote speakers, world-renowned architecture firms creating conversation-starting, artful designs and cool cars are all integral components of this highly respected annual exposition.
Celebrating ten years of success, IDS08 will weave this milestone into multiple elements of this year's show. Ten innovative Canadian designers presented by Audi Canada and Azure Magazine will create 8ft. x 8ft. installations down the centre aisle of the show representing all angles of the
design spectrum: automotive, furniture, interior, landscape and more.
Participating in this internationally-recognized design exhibition for the third consecutive year, Audi Canada will display the winner of the 2008 Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) "Canadian Car of the Year" and "Best New Design" award, the exciting Audi
R8 sports car. In addition, Audi will be presenting the stylish, all-new 2008 S5 coupe.
Last year, the all-new Audi TT Roadster made its Canadian premiere at the gala opening of the Interior Design Show. This was the first time that a car had been introduced at the show and the first time that Audi had premiered a new model in Canada outside of an auto show.
"We are delighted to once again be participating in the Interior Design Show and consider it a natural venue to exhibit the inherently sporty, progressive and sophisticated characteristics found in all new Audi products," said Diego Ramos, Executive Vice President of Audi Canada. "Like any work of art, today's Audi products reflect iconic styling making the Interior Design Show an excellent fit for Audi."
IDS08 offers a unique opportunity for members of the public to discover irresistible design products, find out what's in store for the year ahead and meet the who's who of the design world - all in one place.
