 1998 2.4 V6 A4 Avante Coolant issues! This has happened twice in 20 months so I am wondering if anyone can throw some light on it!!? THE EXPANSION TANK FOR THE COOLANT SYSTEM HAS SPRUNG A LEAK (TWICE IN 20 MONTHS) WHAT HAS HAPPENDED IS THAT THE TANK SEEMED TO HAVE DEVELOPED A SMALL HAIRLINE STRESS FRACTURE. IT ONLY LEAKED WHEN THE COOLANT WAS AT NORMAL RUNNING TEMP. THE FRACTURES HAVE NOT BEEN IN THE SAME POSITION ON THE TANKS. THE TANKS WERE REPLACED WITH NEW GSF PART ON BOTH OCASSIONS. So has anyone heard of this obvious design or part fault in the past please? Is what I guess I'm asking. Or could it be anything more damaging??? Thank you.  |
