 02 Allroad 2.5Tdi Tiptronic problem Hi, wondering if anyone can help... have recently purchased a '02 Allroad 2.5Tdi with the 5spd Tiptronic auto transmission. On the way back from Scotland last w/e a warning light appeared and after checking the manual it said to take to a dearlership, we I have and been told that the ECU needs replacing (@£962 inc labour & VAT)... so am waiting for one of these to be delivered. In the meantime on few occassions the car has been stuck in 1 gear and revs real hard... this seems to be rectified by turning off and re-starting... I called the dealership again, thinking that it was linked to the ECUproblem, but they advised that this was unlikely and probably a fault with the transmission. Has anyone else come across this or offer some advice? Not being the richest person in the world I'm already dreading the ECU bill never mind anything else!! Many thanks  |
