| | This problem you're having seems to be strange to me... Out of all of the b5s that I have had, and worked with, this number does not sound right. My gas mileage on my 1999 B5 1.8t (AE quattro, 5spd, averages from 25.2 to 31.1 depending on what and where... It may deviate a couple of miles depending on oil life. I only have a cat back exhaust, and intake. BUt thats it. I have always been impressed by the fuel consumption, so your problem puzzles me... This is with 91octane shell gasoline. |

| | I am sure there is something wrong with my car, but here in Georgia, audi service is very poor. when I was buying it, in AUDI center they tested it, told everything was fine. I bought it. couple of days driving made me sure, there was something wrong with the power. I took it to VW center, diagnosis told the turbo did not work, but to fix the problem they sent me to audi center, where audi comp guys said, there was no problem with turbo, no problem at all, concerning consumption all they told was - the ratio gas/air mix is perfect. |

| | i took the car to a cervice with noname, they mechanicaly found out that turbo really did not work and fixed it (it is strange, but there was no valve that directs gasses to the turbo and redirects it to exhaust if the preasure is to high, so the exaust was going out not getting into the turbo at all). I did not know anything about a turbo that time. |
