Default seafoam??

ok so here is the thing, i have been getting crappy gas mileage and someone recommended seafoam. so i researched it a little bit and it seems to be cool, but there is one thing that seems a bit sketchy to me. after you use the product it trips the check engine light, "engine misfire" or w/e it reads. Could this product be harmful to my engine? has anyone used this product on there vehicle? if so were there any problems afterwords? any info would be great....thanks...

If you can calivbrate it, then it's not too much of a job, otherwise, best to take it to a garage.

Removing and refitting the throttle body is not a major issue, and you are right it is at the other end of the pipe.

Word of warning though, if you attempt to do the throttle body yourself, is that when the throttle body is put back in, it NEVER goes in the same place, and the ECU needs to be calibrated bvia the VAG COM interface.

TThis needsto be set to basic setting 98. If you dont do this, every time the car approcahes idle it could well stall, since the computer thinks the throttle body is in a different position.

I have not used as of yet but I have not heard of any bad issues after using it but yes you can see engine codes pop up while running through the engine.

I have wanted to try SeaFoam for some time. I emailed the company to see if there is any way of buying it in the UK. I am still waiting for a reply. I will keep you posted.

I've checked as many of the hoses as I can and they look okay, although this does'n't mean that it's not a hose.
