Default Central Locking Pump

Hi There,

Have any of you folks ever had problems with your central locking motor/pump?

Mine is running (well it sounds like it is) but the door locks dont open.
I have pulled the open and close tubes off the pump and managed to actuate the locks by blowing down the tubes but the pump does not seem to generate any pressure.

I'm not actually certain if the pump is supposed to suck or blow. Anyone know?

Thanks for any help

Hi,
I had the exact same problem. If you open the Pump you will find that the pressure is created by a spinning disk (made of bakelite) which on mine had worn, so although the motor was spinning the pressure to suck or blow was not being created. I tried to source a new disk however was unsuccessful and had to replace the whole assembly. Found numerous units in the local scrap yard as seems to be a common Audi assembly. Paid £10.

I will open the unit and investigate.
