Hello All,
The light in my Audi A4 B6 "03" reg glovebox does not work. I changed the bulb but no joy. Thought it might be the fuse but could find no mention of a "Glove Box Fuse" in the manual.
I would appreciate some guidance/advice re this matter.
It could be the glove box light s/w, which is on the side, however you have to remove the glove box to do this , which is easy just a few bolts. Get a volt meter on it when operating and see what you get. Hope this helps
Hi I have the same problem with my glove box light in an Audi A4 TDI (2001). The glove box felt stuck a few days ago so pulled it open with a bit of force. Now the glove compartment door just drops as soon as you release it and the light has stopped working.
Any advice how to repair both would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hello yorkshire1979,
Assuming you have a right hand drive audi, open the front passenger door and you should remove the side panel similar to the one on the drivers side that you would remove to gain access to the fuses. With the panel removed open the glove box and you will see one of a couple of things. The worst would be to see that you have somehow broken the shock absorber that holds the glove box and allows the slow motion movement to happen. However if you are lucky then just like me you will find that either you have broken/dislodged the plastic black pin that joins the glovebox to the shock absorber. Just align the holes and replace the pin through them and bingo. At no time did I need to remove the glove box which was a result.
I hope this helps.
Thanks for the advice Screedman. I will try this over the next few days.
Any advice on the glove box light? The Audi handbook does not show that it has fuse??
I had a similar problem, but when I replaced the pin it seems to pop out again.
Not sure if a new pin is the answer as the hydraulic arm assembly seems a bit loose and is possibly applying side pressure causing the pin to pop out when the glovebox door opens.
A circlip to hold the pin in place may sort it.
