I'm a newbie to this forum, but I'm nearby in West Chester, PA - with nearly an identicle experience. Mine was with a dealer by the name of YBH in Edgemont. Bought a 99
A4 two years back from a dealer in Princeton, NJ with 31k - Audi Assured of course. Within two months I had front brake problems. Went to the nearest dealer - thinking as I just bought it they would take care of it. Yes I know that brakes & tires aren't covered - but they supposably inspect & replace the pads when they certify a car as Audi Assured - it's right in their literture. Since I had only put a couple of thousand miles on it, how could new pads be gone so quickly? I only drove 30 miles a day total for pete's sake. Upon dropping it off, I got a very snooty individual that was essentially rude <_< - like they were doing me a favor by taking my money. Later in the day, I received a call from a lady service manager - who advised me that they had replaced my brakes & rotors & that it came to $700. They never bothered to call with the estimate - just did the work without autorization!

I was so angry, I told them no thanks & that I'd pick up the car immediately - sans repairs. Over the next 4 months I replaced the rotors & brakes 3 more times!

Each time with OEM parts. Finally, my local mechanic - both Audi America & the Aussured warrenty proved useless - replaced the rotors with aftermarket parts & voila - no more brake problems. Obviously, this was a manufacturing or design flaw. The dealer's atitude, lack of professionalism, & lust for emtying my wallet as quickly as possible really sealed it for me.

I really love my car - it's competant and comfortable - but the dealers seem to cater to clueless housewives that like to spend thier husbands money frivolously. I too will likey never buy another Audi. It really is a shame. We actually flew to Germany to rent & drive one before we bought ours. The joke round the water cooler now is tha Audi is German for "frequent expensive repairs"!
