Default Reversing Light Switch

Hi, I have just bought a 2003 plate audi a4 1.8T Q Sport and in my excitement to buy I didn't notice that the reversing lights were not working, I have checked the fuse and bulbs and they are fine. I am assuming that the switch is broke, but does anybody know exactly where it is located?

Thanks
Neil

yes and no... its weird for your car to be having those kind of problems so close together, but it does happen. Its not abnormal for you to need to change your headlight bulbs after 30,000 miles so that isn’t too weird.

from what I can understand, you live in an area with very few Audi dealers. This means there are more cars per dealer than somewhere like Los Angeles which could the be reason for the backup.

It us, on the other hand, unacceptable for the service people to treat you bad. I would schedule an appointment with the service manager and voice your concerns – they are usually very helpful. If you want to take it a step further, you can complain to Audi of America (if you can reach them. .lol) and they may choose to investigate your dealer.

The other option is to find another dealer, but as you said before in your post, if there is only one dealer around you that may not be an option.

As for the headlight, search the form, you can change that yourself.

I'm a newbie to this forum, but I'm nearby in West Chester, PA - with nearly an identicle experience. Mine was with a dealer by the name of YBH in Edgemont. Bought a 99 A4 two years back from a dealer in Princeton, NJ with 31k - Audi Assured of course. Within two months I had front brake problems. Went to the nearest dealer - thinking as I just bought it they would take care of it. Yes I know that brakes & tires aren't covered - but they supposably inspect & replace the pads when they certify a car as Audi Assured - it's right in their literture. Since I had only put a couple of thousand miles on it, how could new pads be gone so quickly? I only drove 30 miles a day total for pete's sake. Upon dropping it off, I got a very snooty individual that was essentially rude <_< - like they were doing me a favor by taking my money. Later in the day, I received a call from a lady service manager - who advised me that they had replaced my brakes & rotors & that it came to $700. They never bothered to call with the estimate - just did the work without autorization! I was so angry, I told them no thanks & that I'd pick up the car immediately - sans repairs. Over the next 4 months I replaced the rotors & brakes 3 more times! Each time with OEM parts. Finally, my local mechanic - both Audi America & the Aussured warrenty proved useless - replaced the rotors with aftermarket parts & voila - no more brake problems. Obviously, this was a manufacturing or design flaw. The dealer's atitude, lack of professionalism, & lust for emtying my wallet as quickly as possible really sealed it for me. I really love my car - it's competant and comfortable - but the dealers seem to cater to clueless housewives that like to spend thier husbands money frivolously. I too will likey never buy another Audi. It really is a shame. We actually flew to Germany to rent & drive one before we bought ours. The joke round the water cooler now is tha Audi is German for "frequent expensive repairs"!
