strange noise, whirrrr

Hey guys,

I have a 2003 A4 Avant 2.5TDI V6 (not quattro). When i drive the car and go past 50-60 km per hour there seems to be this whirrrrrrrrr sound. I thought maybe the bearings, but when i turn it does not make the sound a bad bearing would and no clunking sound as if the cv joint is bad. The sound does increase as speed increases. When i try to parallel park , if i turn the steering wheel full left/right there is a loud eeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhh sound, when i release a little the sound stops. the power steering fluid is up to top and always has been. Could it be a bad power steering pump? If someone could just give me a tip or two please that would be highly appreciated.
