Just purchased an
A4 Avant 1.9 TDi sport 03 plate, went to lower rear seats, pressed the Headrest release button and the inner plastic guide came away from the seat and was still attached to the Headrest metal spoke. It has a rough uneven end to this plastic part, so clearly it has broken off inside the rear seat, someone has obviously forced it in a previous life without pressing the release button!
Garage are refusing to fix it under their warrenty, because of the break the headrest is not as ridgid as it should be - does anyone reckon this to be a saftey issue? - anyone know what is required to fit a new internal guide sleeve into seat?
