Rear Brakes - Sizing??

I need to replace the rear rotors and pads on my '01 TT. I have searched the web for part information and have the following questions:

1) How can I determine what size rotors I need? Will the VIN# tell me? I have a 225HP Quattro.

2) The "check brakes" warning symbol came up on my dashboard. Does this mean I need to replace the rear pads with sensors or is this built into the caliper? Will the warning light automatically reset or do I need to have the dealer do this?

3) Can you recommend a good set of discs and pads and a web retailer?

Any other advice on replacing the brakes myself would be appreciated.
