I think I smell gas in my oil I'd like some advice... there is definitely a distinctive gasoline smell to my oil. I'm not even sure where to start -- this is beyond what I have encountered in my mechanical experience. Is this caused by a common TT ailment? I do not believe that there is an increase in the volume of my oil (i.e., petrol leaking in and raising the level). The last time I checked my oil, it was at the proper fill level. Now, I cannot check my oil level because the crappy pipe which holds my dipstick has broken around the top, effectively disabling the deduction of an accurate reading from my dipstick.
Also, there is a rubber piece with 3 ports (which I do not know the name of), which is broken. It is connected to the block, and sits to the driver's left after all of the coil packs... It connects to 3 different tubes, but is cracked apart and held together by hose tape. Please let me know if I should post any pictures. I don't know what this piece does; looks to be part of the oil distribution system, though.
Anyway, thank you for your help... Please offer any insight you can. |
