 Cam chain tensioner noise I have an 01, 225.. There has been a loud clicking noise coming from the engine when warmed up (when cold you can't hear it).. At 2000 RPM, the noise totally disappears. My mechanic said it was the cam chain tensioner. I thought the noise would go away after I had the oil pump replaced, because the low oil pressure at idle causes the tensioner not to tension. I just had my oil pump changed- and it didn't get rid of the tensioner noise. It is only audible at idle. That cam tensioner noise is what brought my car in to be looked at. I know it costs quite a bit to have replaced. Is there any way to adjust this??  |
