R8 supercar is back in production plans. Quattro GmbH reps had stated it'd never happen, but the latest confirmation comes from higher up the chain. The Volkswagen Group's head of powertrain development Wolfgang Hatz stated to Autocar this week, "The car is now signed off, and will appear during the second quarter of 2009." Hatz went on to say that inclusion of a roof-based NACA vent improves airflow by 20%, making the engine possible.
