Default Bleeding my brak

I just got a new master cylinder for my 97 a4 and I was wondering what the best way to bleed my system would be. When the new (used) master cylinder was pulled from the car the lines were crimped and there is still fluid in the resovore so priming the master cylinder will not be necessary. There is probably air in the lines though. I have a gallon of brake fluid so should I just start one at a time and keep pumping until I get all the old stuff plus the air out? Any help would be great.
