A2 wheel refurbish

HI, the dealer has just tod me that i can not refurbish my A2 1.6 fsi wheels. Is this true or do they just not want the business? They said it had a plastic coating on the wheel which meant it could not be refurbished.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I thought a question concerning A2 wheels would belong in an A2 forum!
