Default 2002 A4 quattro Gas pedal stuck

I was driving this morning and was approaching an intersection when I floored it and the pedal got stuck to the floor. I had to brake and throw it into park. I reached down and pulled up on the accelerator and it pop up. I tried replicating this situation with the car off and in park and sure enough the pedal got stuck. This time, instead of lifting the pedal with my hand, I pressed on the pedal and it popped up. I have it scheduled in tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone had an opinion on this.

Exclamation accelerator stuck

I was just curious if you had any updates to your situation. Early today while going about 30mph on a residential road, my accelerator stuck. I immediately threw the car into neutral and pull the emergency brake, missing the brand new 760Li by about 10 feet. I'm taking the car, a 2002 A4 3.0 quattro into the dealership on monday...but was wondering if you had any input. Thanx.

I hade a similiar problem on my previous audi.

I examined the pedal and discover that my heavy duty snow/mud catcher floor mat had chafe marks on the top right hand corner. I manually pushed down the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and there it was, the pedal once again stuck to the floor, caught under the edge of the floor mat.

The engineering problem that allows this to happen is the pedal arm is made out of injection molded plastic with open cavities on the left side of it. This allows things like the corners and edges of heavy duty floor mats to catch in them while your feet are helping to hold the mats in place.

Thats exactly the problem I had once. I jumped on it in second gear and the car flung to redline, it was the floor mat that caused the problem.
