Lowering Car?

I have an 05 a4 with the s package. Does this mean it as already lower than an a4 without the package?

I am thinking about buying a suspension set up to lower the car about an inch and a half all the way around to fill in the wheel gap. And have had several friend say not to because I will despise the way it rides and that the suspension now is good. Most of the suggested buying 19 inch wheels and not going with a lower profile tire to fill the gap. Anyone who has been through this could you please let em know what you decided and how you like the results. Pictures would be great also.
