Hi Guys,

I know I have to take my car into a workshop to have this sorted, but I'd just like to find out what possible causes are for the problems.

My clutch pedal has gone a little softer than normal, making it rather difficult to change gears in my A3. The car still drives, albeit rather difficult not to mention dangerous.

My foot brake has also gotten stiff like it is when the key is taken out of the ignition.

Are these two issues related to each other? How serious is this and how much is this likely to cost me roughly (for someone who's had either problem)? And what causes them? How serious is this?

As mentioned above I am taking the car into the workshop to have the problem looked at. I am not using the car until I get these issues sorted out. I'd just like to know what I'm dealing with.
