It is quite unfair to compare between the Audi A5 & Audi Q5. Two totally different cars all the way. Both the cars are one of the best performers in their respective categories, It really depends on what you think best suits you, it is not that the engine performance of the Q5 is bad, but if you want a car just for the city drive you could opt for the A5, whereas if you go on occasional off-roading the Q5 would be perfect. I'd suggest you to go for a Test Drive in both cars, i am sure that you will be able too decide the best for you.

Hi Tugcan, welcome to Audi Forum.

Just what i think, is it important but in a comparison like this? The Q5 is a crossover of the A5. But as Joshi stated both are good in their respective categories. Better get both tested by yourself then conclude.

Thank you for your replies. I drove both, A5 clearly feels better for performance. Q5 TDI does not accelarate adequately after 120km/hr, especially if you are on a slight hill. The inner space is better with Q5, I do not go off-road, but go for skiing which A5 will also be fine for snowy mountains.
Any other issue that you'd like to mention?

I'm sure the Audi A5 will be a perfect choice for you, as you find the A5's performance better than that of Audi Q5 in your driving conditions & also as you do not go off-road often, the A5 will be fine for you . I'm sure you will be able to finalize what will fit perfectly for you better, Hope you get your Audi soon . It's quite difficult to compare both these cars as both are great cars. The A5 has a spectacular interior and a great road presence and performance wise it is little bit better than Q5.
