Audi A6 2.7 tdi correct tyre pressure
Hi there,
I got brand new A6 2.7 TDI with Bridgestone Potenza 245/45R 17 99 Y Tyres from RE 050A Class.
Dealer gave me the delivery with 30psi air pressure in all, but recommended one is more like normal 34/36psi & Loaded 40/42psi.
What is correct ? Dealer says higher pressure will spoil the comfort ride qaulity, I agree to an extent but does that mean violating OEM's recommendations.
Pl. help me with your vast Experience. I live in India where the weather condition is not that harsh & Roads are also not that Good.
Thanks in Anticipation.

Hi Dbmahal,
Congratulations on your brand new Audi A6 2.7 TDI. Recommended tyre pressure will just be ok. It all depends on how you want it to be. For example your Audi on an average carry 150 Kgs of weight you can have 38/39 psi, it depends. Its better to keep it on an average range between normal and loaded.
More over am from INDIA, I know how our INDIAN roads will be, keeping loaded pressure will make you feel even small bumps and pit holes, so keep it average, stick on to it or change if you require(This i have experienced and my personnel advice too).
Next you will have to note is regarding whether conditions(as its sunny), tyre pressure may expand.
Keeping high pressure may reflect on back of the person also(as doctors advised for INDIAN road conditions).
So finally keeping average pressure will help you drive well and safe.
Hope this get you an idea.

Hello dbmahal, Namaste!
As Dileep suggested, Forget what the dealer suggested, never ever have your Tire pressure below the OEM recommendations, as lower tire pressure would result in excessive Tire Wear and poor fuel efficiency. So it is always advisable to pump the tire pressure to the recommended values
