Hey Bardwelllauren,

The sound heard when letting of the gas must be different, but when shifting gears i guess the acceleration i almost pressed hard while the clutch is half way released.

This is a tricky thing usually done by people who do Racing stuffs, this won't be a major problem i guess. If you still continue to get this sound get it checked with Audi service person.

haha no I'm not driving like a race car driver! The noise actually happens when I press in the clutch, not while releasing it. It may not even be related with the clutch, that's just when I notice it. As I said before, it also happens when I let off the gas in higher rpm's, and I'm positive it's the same noise. It's not an alarming noise; on the quiet side and it almost sounds like something whirling/spinning. Any other ideas?
