overhead dome light, no worky
So I noticed tonight my overhead interior lights were not working. I know there are 3 seperate bulbs up there but are they all on the same fuse? because when I played with the center on/off/default switch nothing happened, but if I pressed the map lights on either side, they both worked
any clue whats up?

Audi TT Intermittent front interior light problem
I have an Audi TT coupe (2005) and the front interior light is intermittent
When it's working correctly (and the light switches are in their middle positions), the main centre light and two map reading lights automatically come on when I unlock the car. And the lights continue to stay on for a couple of minutes, or until I start the car.
Similarly, the main centre light and two map reading lights automatically come on when I turn off the ignition. And the lights continue to stay on for a couple of minutes, or until I lock the car.
However, after a few days, none of the lights come on automatically when I unlock the car, or turn off the ignition. Furthermore, only the two map reading lights work when they are switched on manually, and the main centre light will not work at all!
After a few more days, the interior lights start working again. Does anyone have any suggestions?
BTW, I haven't been able to find a wiring diagram for the coupe, but I have found a wiring diagram for a TT Roadster, which I suspect is similar. The URL is http://130.74.178.25:85/newsletter/r...rAT/wiring.pdf (sorry 453k is too big to attach to this thread). Page 8 shows the wiring for the interior lights, but it doesn't really help me.

Replacing the interior light seems to have fixed the fault
After looking at the wiring diagram again, I think the centre switch is faulty. I eventually managed to get the interior light out without breaking it, but I couldn't repair it. I ended up replacing the whole unit, which seems to have fixed the fault

I had the same problem and eventually worked out that the switch was faulty / intermittent - please see my thread 'Audi TT Intermittent front interior light problem' for further details.

I tried to get one from a salvage yard, but nobody had one in stock so I ordered one from my local Audi dealer. It cost about £45 and arrived in about 2 days. No idea what the p/n is, but it will depend on the colour of your interior.
