Allan McNish Confirmed for AutoSport International

Allan McNish is the latest big name confirmed at the Autosport International Show being staged at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham early next year (14-17 January).

After helping Audi win the Sebring 12 Hours (March), Dumfries-born McNish secured podium finishes in both the Le Mans 24 Hours (June) and in the Petit Le Mans races (Sept).

The show will provide visitors with a rare opportunity to meet the Scottish sportscar ace whose position as a "factory" driver in Audi's hugely successful sports car programme ensures that much of his racing takes place on foreign soil.

As well as meeting and greeting fans, the double Le Mans 24 Hours winner will reflect on his 2009 season which saw Audi launch the new diesel-engined R15 TDI in its battle for sportscar supremacy.

Celebrating its 20th year in 2010, Autosport International gives fans the chance to meet their favourite drivers in person with McNish joining Formula One World Champion Jenson Button.

"Autosport International is one of the few chances for drivers like me, who race mainly outside the UK, to get close to the fans and vice versa," McNish said.

"The show is brilliant for enabling people to get close to the drivers, and - because there isn't the stress of a race weekend - it gives us a proper chance to relax and interact with the public. It is always a great start to the new season."

Autosport International Show Director Ian France added: "We are thrilled that Allan will be joining us again at the show in 2010. He is always a popular figure with the fans and is one of a number of big names we will be welcoming."
