Default Audi Q5 Tire Pressure Monitor system

Does anyone know if a genuine Tire Pressure Monitor can be fitted to a Q5 after it leaves the Factory?

Hello moose ,

I was thinking TPMS were standard in all Q5's ! Isn't it standard in all Q5's ??
Btw. there are many TPM systems available in the market . Have a look at this link , they are a reputed brand in TPM systems PressurePro Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems

Thanks Joshi,
the Australian Q5 has the TPMS as a A$105 option. Which seems, can only be fitted during production. Just another nail of disappointment in the Q5. Especially when a replacement tyre is A$500.

oh that is disappointing indeed ! You could opt for many other TPM systems like the one in the link provided by me or a number of wide options from online stores like Ebay ! Also , I'm sure your local automobile stores can have many different systems of this sort !

Oryginal TMPS system in Q5 based on ABS sensors - there is no sensors in tyres or rims. Those sensors calculates a circumference of a circle (wheel) during movement and compare it with memorised data - if any wheel has smaler circumference it will be recognized as a low pressure.

Thanks Martin, That's what I am after, I have no interest in the Rim mounted sensors.
I have been able to get "Tyre Pressure Monitoring" to display (with the Secret Menu) under "CAR" with the Ross-Tech Vag-com, but it appears as a dull colour compared to "OIL LEVEL" and "BATTERY CHARGE". All the posts I have read, indicate there is a physical module plugged into the Q5, and then setup with Vag-Com.
I don't believe it's just a Vag-com adjustment alone.
Do you know if this illusive module exists and if it is available from Audi aftermarket?
Also have asked the Audi Dealer Service Department about the TPMS and through their absence of reply, I guess they don't know or don't want to answer.

Dull colour appears also if you are stopped with gearbox in P position and with brake? About sensor: I do not know exactly, but similar problem exists with the radio - controlled clock. You can activate the function by VAG, the dashboard module is the same, but THERE IS NO antenna in the dashboard - you have to buy it (about $40). If I know something new about TPM sensor - I will let you know Interesting: on European market - there is no BATTERY CHARGE indicator in the menu ??
