Audi Q5 Bang & Olufsen Sound System worth the price?

I am in the market for a new Q5 here in the U.S. Is the B&O upgrade really worth the extra $850. How bad is the standard sound system if the upgrade is worth it?

The 10 Speaker Audi one on the s-line is fantastic, i'd spend the money on a different option.

The audi 10 speaker stereo is GOOD but the B&O is "THE BEST" With 14 loudspeakers, 10 amplifier channels and a total output power of more than 500 watts .It is upto you to decide , if you are really into very high quality music go for the B&O or else the standard one is pretty good .

No one can give you good advise because music listeninig is very personal experience, sit in 2 Q5 and compare two systems, use your ears to decide (and your wallet).
I got B&O - i like good sound systems.

I have the B&O and I mostly listen to satellite and it's worth every single penny. BUT they say it has 14 speakers I can only find 13, can anyone tell me where the 14th speaker is?

A Subwoofer is down by the spare tire, did you already count that one?

In the Q5 the 14 high-performance speakers locations are:

– one central speakerand two mid-range speakers in the dashboard
– one tweeter in each of the mirror triangles
– one woofer in each of the front doors
– two tweeters and two bass/mid-range speakers in the door trims
– one surround speaker in each of the D-pillars
– one subwoofer in the spare wheel recess

You guys are awesome, I was missing the sub by the spare tire. How do I get to it? I am going to lift the tire area up see if I can see it.

You are welcome. Yes, the Sub woofers are cleverly placed within the excess space of the spare tyre

For me, B/O is a must and for $800 it's a bargain. I have B&O speakers for my home stereo system and they ARE EXPENSIVE. The standard systems in most cars leave me cold as did Audi's. I added a dealer-installed amplifier on my last car and it was the best decision i ever made on that front.
