My car was just at the dealer for the vibration issue. We are waiting on parts...control arms...something about going from #74 to #80 something...the service tech at the dealership seems really good. I am just a dumb accountant so I really don't understand what they are telling me. However, the person I communicate with there indicated that Audi has not acknowledged any "issue" here, nor is there a recall ....just that they are replacing the control arms for a "comfort issue". Yes, they have labeled this a "comfort" issue. Apparently they are selling cars that are $50,000 + , however, they don't tell you at the time of purchase that you may have a minor "comfort" issue in that the steering will vibrate at the speed you just happen to drive the most on US Highways (at least in Ohio where the top speed is 65mph). The Tech in the garage told me the new control arms are the ones that are being used in current production...apparently they made this change for the 2010 models. When I get more details I will post what I know...supposed to be 2-3 weeks before the parts arrive.
I must say my Audi experience thus far has not met my expectations.
I have had the same issue in the UK since Jan 09. I have a Jan 2007, AUDI A5 3.0
I have had the car in the AUDI dealership so many times and have had all the same reasons as you have had. Had to pay £1000 for a new set of tyres even though the old ones were 3 months old.
I have today taken the car to an independent tyre and wheel specialist. They have a 'rolling road' test bed. They have told me I have a 'soft' 'wishbone suspension bush, drivers side (AUDI have never said this)
They also re-balanced the wheels as the nearside was 20g out and the drivers side 35g out. I have since tested the car and all viration has gone again, through braking, speed and cornering, the best level of quality so far. I still have a shudder, but they believe this is from the soft bush, I have to take it to AUDI to be fixed.
Fingers Crossed!!!!

I just ordered my A5, had some special options requests, so I don't pick it up until February. It'll be an '10 obviously. Any news on this vibration issue? Did they finally get it resolved? Any reports of the 2010's with the issue? Debating whether or not I should cancel the order and talk to infiniti instead...
Hi Miragetm, welcome to Audi forum, this was an issue with the A5 till 2009, but audi people are working on it and i guess the 2010 model will be fine.
You can even consult Audi people if they have fixed this issue and then decide.
Any more informations will be updated.

New control arms on the A5. Spoke with the tech...nice guy...he said the rubber bushings on the new arms were quite a bit larger than the originals. I have not drived the car a lot due to weather, however, it seems much better.
