Alarm problem
I'm having an issue with my alarm going off after I lock my doors in a 2003 A4. The alarm siren is all that's going off, the 4-way flashers aren't blinking. All of the doors are shut and the trunk lid is latched. Sometimes I can press the unlock button or trunk open button on the key and that will shut off the alarm. Then I press lock again and it will beep once and the alarm doesn't go off. Usually it doesn't matter what I press on the key to shut it off, it will just beep for 20-30 seconds and then be quiet. It usually does this first thing in the morning and seems to do it less the more I lock and unlock the doors during the day. It's not doing the 4 beeps when I start it so it shouldn't be the batteries going dead in the module that's located in the trunk. I haven't pulled it out yet and cut it in half to see, but I wanted to see if anyone could lend any insight before I did that operation.

Ok, I've checked out that link and I don't have the interior motion sensor. So I tried to leave some doors open, lock it, and shut the door. 9 out of 10 times, when I shut a door or the trunk or the hood after it has been locked, the alarm is tripped. Is this something I can fix if i were to connect it to Vag-Com?

Also, side note...if I lock the car with the key, it beeps once and does not trip the alarm. But if I use the key FOB the alarm will usually sound.

Hi there Blaqk panda , The most probable cause for the above defects seems to be the Central lock module malfunction or shock sensor malfunction. You can try using vag-com to find out the cause of malfunction or if you are still not absolutely sure on what is going on i'd urge you take it to a service engineer and ask him to physically inspect to find the proper cause of malfunction
