In the first case !! Does it crank and not catch or just wont crank?

How long is it since you changed the thermostat?
How long ago did you change your spark plugs and fuel filter

If your coils are bad, the plugs can get fouled no matter if you put them in new or slightly used.

the main reasons for your problem may be !!
1) your Ignition Control Module is dead
2) some of your coils are bad
3) beginning of fuel pump problems?
