Default 2000 Audi TT

Hey folks - quick question:

Anyone know for sure if the Audi TT 2000 bumper consists of two units - the main piece with the headlights/corporate grill and (hopefully) the bottom piece "lip" with the three little grills? I cracked the bottom piece into pieces by accident (it got caught on one of those cement parking block bolts) and cannot be repaired. The repair shop says its all one unit and its going to cost $1800 to fix. Alternatively I can put the 2006 V6 full unit on the car for $2200 - but I don't know if it's a direct OEM fit or not (someone out there must know!).

Let me know and thanks -
Sam

Go to Ebay, look out for salvage TTs. the minute bidding stops. try to find out who won. Ask if the front end is intact. Negotiate. Get the parts. Look for a moonlighting body shop grease monkey, negotiate. replace & install, spend a max of 500 bucks and you're good to go. more time spent but with a lot less money.
