Engine Noise.. maybe turbo??

A few weeks ago I started hearing this high pitch noise. Kinda sounds like a bearing. I can hear the noise best when my ear is above the engine (metal part) around the air flow system. They said it does NOT sound like its the idler pulley of timing belt or serpantine belt.

Took it to a shop and they said it's probably the Turbo. I have 101K on my car. I keep hearing Turbo is usually replaced around 60K.

Any thoughts on what else this could be? Also, if it is my turbo, is it necessary to replace it? I'd rather not.. if it's not going to cause damage to the engine.
