Clicking/Clonking Driveshaft

Hi everyone !!,

My 2000 A8 Quattro has some clicking and clonking sounds that are coming from the center driveshaft, anyone had this problem before, i put the car up on a lift, grabed the center driveshaft and was able to turn it left and right with about and inch or two of play in both direction, as i was doing so , i could hear that clicking sound that i hear when driving.
Any help would be great, thanks !!
