    Hey,

getting any error codes? It sounds like a starting sensor is damaged. Or just nothing and then the problems you described?

Hendricius and I talked. Both are unsure what could cause this problem. I am asking another member on the forum which can hopefully help you a bit more!

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I am having the same issue with my 97 A4. I dont seem to have any power going to the crank sensor. However the sensor seems to test out ok when checking the ohms. I was told that it could be the ECM. Did you check yours?

    Best regards,

Hello Chadz welcome to Audi Forum,

Most probable cause of this malfunction would be due to the Flywheel, I suggest you to get it checked by your Audi service or local mechanic and replaced if found problematic or the other probable reasons may be Bad wiring from the sensors to the ECU or Bad ECU itself.

    Regards

I had someone else say that they thought it was the ECM as that is where the crank sensor gets its power and there is no power going to the sensor. Is there a way to test the ECM/ECU? Does anyone know where the ECM/ECU is located?

    Best regards,
    Chadz Audi
