Default 1997 S6 CV joint

I am preparing to remove/replace the drivers side outer CV.

My plan of attack is:

1. Remove/hang caliper
2. Remove tie rod from upper control arm. (I have a replacement tie rod end in the wings)
3. Remove upper CA to allow removal of drive shaft.

Any words of wisdom, or caution, would be appreciated.
