You may already have seen this, thanks and reputation counters in the right of each avatar. This is a system on Go-Audi to reward active users. So if someone helps you or posts something useful you can basically say thanks. With more reputation/thanks you can at some point be promoted to a new user group.

Regular Users: All Users with less than 25 reputation. Default forum access rights. Normal sized postbox.

Elder Users: Once you reach 25 reputation you are being promoted to the Elder-User user group. You have a larger PM box, more signature rights, more avatar options. Allowed to view Chatbox.
